We are entering into the final stages of our project, which includes the promoting of the project.
Time has gotten away from me, and since I was in Mexico all last week, I lost a week of time.
Neither Courtney, nor I, are marketing majors, but we are doing the best we can.
We are meeting with Gary and Noble at HOPE Farm on Wednesday to go over some final details of the project, including what their presence will be at the tournament.
I have emailed Professor Akin, along with other Neeley Professors/Admin People to help spread the word at Neeley and at TCU.
Courtney and I have been emailing everyone we know in the DFW area- family, coworkers, etc. and hope to get a great turnout.

getting closer
today I realized just how close the tournament is... and we still have so much to do!
we should get the fliers back from HOPE tomorrow, hopefully with their approval...
we also need to get some prizes donated!!!!
After visiting with HOPE farm last week I have renewed motivation and drive to complete things. This week is extremely busy, two tests, a paper, a spreadsheet project, but I need to make sure to continue to work diligently on my project, especially because spring break is next week and I will not be able to work on it at all.
Goals for this week: get final flier approved, print fliers, send digital flier to BNSF NGLP (ask them to forward it on to their parents), send flier to BNSF NGLP staff, ask Lynn Cole to include flier in next Neeley Newsletter, send final flier to Mercedes at White Stone

moving along
After two very important and informative meetings, we have changed our project.
After meeting with you today I am confident in our decision to raise funds for H.O.P.E farms.
I am very excited about our meeting tomorrow with Noble. This is kind of selfish, I am looking forward to his reaction about our efforts to raise money for HOPE. People's excitement about our fundraiser has really inspired and motivated me to continue my efforts, and has pushed me to work harder on this project.

I had no idea how much work this project was going to be.
It feels like every second I have to add one more thing to my project to do list, or call Courtney to tell her one more thing we need to do. It has been very difficult.
Right now we are coming up with lists of people to contact to participate in the tournament. This is the most vital part, because without these people we will raise no money. I am nervous about getting participants, but am constantly reminded by the charitable acts people do on a daily basis.
I have made a plan to meet with Dede this week to come up with a list of people to contact that have been influential with the NGLP, and hopefully talk to her about creating a permanent golf fundraising officer within the program, I look forward to her insight regarding our project.

Working it out...
I have finally nailed down an idea about my project.
I knew going into this project that I wanted to raise money, maybe because it's because I'm a Finance and Accounting major, but something about raising money appeals to me. I like being able to measure the impact I will have.
After brainstorming for weeks, I have decided to pair with Courtney Bonner and hold a golf tournament.
We already have a contact at a golf course in Dallas, that is willing to work with us to hold the tournament at his course.
We plan on creating a how-to guide, of sorts, on how to hold a golf tournament fund raiser.
As of right now we are still trying to figure out what we want to put the money we raise towards. Our favorite idea is donating it back to the program. Specifically, creating a scholarship(s) for students to go to Scotland, since I have heard it is now a requirement.
Obviously the idea is still rough, but I am very confident and excited to really start working on the project. We are currently trying to come up with specific numbers, so we can set a goal on how much money we want to raise.
